With a diverse skill set spanning well over two decades, Chico Chapman serves as the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Information Officer at GEP Network. Beginning his music career as the founder of Indica Records/LBE Entertainment in the mid-90s, he worked with or managed numerous regional and national recording artists, including Atlanta rap music pioneers MC Shy D, The A-Town Players, and female rap group Lady Law. While at Indica/LBE, he developed skills as a songwriter, recording artist, session engineer, and manager. During this tenure, LBE Entertainment organized famed events, such as the Celebrity Kickball Game with Greg Street of Atlanta radio station V-103, where participants included Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, TLC, Silk, Ghetto Mafia, Xscape, and Bad Boy artist Mase.
During a 7-year hiatus from the entertainment industry, Chico served as National Marketing Coordinator for International Telecommunications Infrastructure builder, Linc.net and served as the Managing Broker at Atlanta real estate firm Access America Realty. At Linc.net, he worked with the Corporate VP of Marketing in constructing marketing plans and integrating corporate cultures and processes of 11 different merged corporations. One of his main responsibilities at Linc.net was the research, reporting, and writing on evolving technologies in broadband communications and their future usage and expected capital expenditures. After leaving Linc.net, Chico began operating Nations Best Designs, a marketing and web development company, where he developed marketing plans, websites, processes, and strategies for real estate professionals and small businesses looking to improve their bottom lines.
In 2007, transitioning back into the music industry and into GEP Network under the leadership of CEO Victor Reed, his expertise expanded to concert tour production and administration, where he played pivotal roles in coordinating productions for renowned artists such as Mary J. Blige, Nicki Minaj, A$AP Mob, OMG Girlz, and Jill Scott. His responsibilities encompassed production office setup and management, tour document creation, crew coordination, budget management, and internal communication.
His keen eye for unique opportunities and ability to deliver bold, differentiating ideas make him an invaluable asset to GEP Network. His strengths extend to crafting compelling marketing plans and leveraging new media strategies, which are integral to GEP’s current and future growth. His commitment to excellence and innovative approach to marketing and technology continues to drive GEP Network’s success in the dynamic landscape of event production and management.
